Fat and Diabetes ( & briefly on protein )

The Fat that you eat and the Fat that you wear increase insulin resistance, leading to type 2 Diabetes Mellitus ( DM) .

A NEJM study fed sugar to type 2 DM and their diabetes improved. Misnomer that sugar causes or worsens diabetes, other than being empty calories that can lead to more weight gain.

In 2006 Neil Barnard fed a diet of 10 % fat, 15 % protein and 75% carbs to Diabetics and they all improved significantly .

Dinauf, et al. in 2017 fed a WFPBD to his Diabetics and 62% of them normalized their glucose. Mean number of medications taken decrease from 4 to 1. Blood pressure decreased fro 148/78 to 121/74 and the triglycerides ( a fat in your blood ) decreased from 171 to 103.

A National Institute of Health study used a WFPBD in comparison to the recommended American Diabetic Association diet. The WFPBD improved the following measures more than twice what the ADA diet did. Hemoglobin A1C, LDL cholesterol, weight, and decrease in number of medications needed.

Protein- The EPIC study showed that for every 5% increase in calories from animal protein in the diet there was a 30 % increase risk of developing DM. There was no increase seen with vegetable protein.
