Brief Bio

A little about my history that has led me to wanting to help people and the world to live a healthier and happier lifestyle.

I grew up in the Midwest and was Salutatorian at my high school. I then went on to graduate from college, Summa Cum Laude with a BS in Chemistry. From there I went on to Medical School again graduating with honors. Finally , I did my Family Medicine Residency where I was chief resident . I went in to private practice where I worked for 25 years finally retiring at age 55. During this time I practiced the full range of family medicine including OB and sports medicine. I was one of the team physicians for the University of Idaho as well.

At age 42, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. I had many different problems including difficulty walking, pain, fatigue, weakness in different muscles etc. None of the medications taken during this time seemed to help and the side effects often were at best uncomfortable and at worst incapacitating.

After retiring and having more time to spend researching this and getting an excellent new physician that led me to Dr. Swank, Dr. McDougall and the Whole Food Plant Based Diet I finally found something that helped with essentially only benefits and no adverse side effects. I went from 2-4 exacerbations per year on medications to near zero on the diet and off the medications.

I continue to look into the benefits and studies regarding this diet and I have taken courses and lectured to medical personnel about the long term benefits for individuals and for the environment.
